What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
My specialised work includes complex foot, ankle and knee rehabilitation, running gait analysis and performance coaching and programming for field sport and endurance athletes from half marathon to 100km distances. I have in-depth understanding of the management of ACL injuries in the skiing population following a recent literature review and podium presentation completed at the University of Queensland.
Favourite Conditions to Treat:
ACL injuries. The rehab process is both challenging and rewarding. I have been through a knee reconstruction myself so understand the highs and lows of this rehab journey.
What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?
Trail running in the Gold Coast hinterland Surfing at Kirra
Playing soccer with my mates.
What would be your personal motto?
Answer when the mountains call, the answer is always in the mountains.
Who is someone you admire and why?
One of my personal clients Viviana Ruiz. Viv migrated to Australia from Colombia 11 years ago wishing nothing but a backpack. She started boxing in Sydney and turned professional a few years ago. She is now the IBF Interim Featherweight World Champion. Viv gained this title after she suffered an Achilles rupture 12 months prior in training. Being alongside her and guiding her rehab journey to the top of the sport is one of the most inspiring things I’ve ever been apart of. She is a reflection of chasing your dreams no matter the circumstances.
Your most-outstanding achievement:
My most recent ultra marathon in Thailand at the Asia Pacific titles. I busted my ankle on the first decline and ran/hobbled 85kms to the finish. It’s my favourite moment as a reminder of how far the mind and body can go.
